I am still taking it all in - we did it!

From my incredible family and friends who believed in me from day one, to the volunteers who poured their time and energy into this campaign, and to every voter who placed their trust in me—thank you!

This victory is about us, not me. It’s about what we can accomplish when neighbors come together, listen to one another, and work for something bigger than ourselves.

I also want to extend my respect and appreciation to Quinn Wright who also ran a dedicated campaign. I am proud to work with him and all of City Council to serve the people of Madison Heights. Our shared love for this community is what unites us!

I’m excited and ready to serve as your Mayor, and I promise to give this role everything I have.

Here’s to the next chapter Madison Heights!!

ABOUT COREY

ELECT COREY K. HAINES | EXPERIENCED PUBLIC SERVANT

A Lifetime of Service and Leadership

Chief Corey Haines has dedicated more than three decades to protecting and serving the people of Madison Heights and neighboring communities. Beginning his public-safety career as a patrol officer, Corey rose through every rank of the Madison Heights Police Department, earning the trust of his colleagues and residents alike. His strong record of leadership led to his appointment as Police Chief and later as Deputy City Manager, where he oversaw public safety, code enforcement, and key community initiatives.

In these dual roles, Corey worked to modernize police operations, strengthen neighborhood programs, and champion projects that improved both safety and quality of life. He led the city’s successful  Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police accreditation process, advanced body-worn camera adoption, and promoted cooperative partnerships between first responders and residents.

Following his retirement from Madison Heights in 2023, Corey continued his public service as Police Chief for the City of Eastpointe, where he brought the same focus on community trust, fairness, and accountability.

Education and Professional Background

Corey is also a licensed attorney, having earned his law degree and bar admission in 2019, bringing a deep understanding of both justice and governance to his leadership approach. His legal and administrative training complement his extensive executive experience in municipal management, making him uniquely qualified to guide city policy with clarity and fairness.

He has served on the Federal Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice (FACJJ) and remains an active member of several professional and civic organizations dedicated to youth safety, justice reform, and ethical leadership.

Family and Community Values

A proud Madison Heights resident and family man, Corey is guided by the same family and community values that shaped his career. He believes that effective leadership begins with listening — understanding the needs of residents, small businesses, and city employees — and turning those insights into practical solutions.

Corey’s vision for Madison Heights centers on accountability, safety, and strong neighborhoods. He’s running for Mayor because he believes that city government should work for the people — efficiently, respectfully, and with shared purpose.

A Commitment to Madison Heights

As Mayor, Corey Haines will build on his lifelong dedication to public service by bringing experienced leadership to City Hall. His priorities include:

  • Strengthening public safety and emergency readiness

  • Supporting responsible development and economic stability

  • Promoting collaboration between residents, schools, and city departments

  • Ensuring that government decisions reflect fairness, fiscal discipline, and community input

“Leadership is about showing up for people,  listening first, solving problems second, and always doing what’s right for the community.”
